After a very dry first half of, New Jersey really needs to see some rain. And "Potential Tropical Cyclone #8" may deliver this week.

For now, the weather service is predicting about a half-inch to 1 inch of rain from Interstate 95 to areas south and east of the corridor, and about a quarter-inch to a half-inch or rain in areas north and west of I-95.

A low-pressure system off the Carolinas will strengthen and move inland on Monday. Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 is poised to bring moderate to heavy rainfall to our area Monday night and Tuesday. There is a risk of excessive rainfall leading to localized flooding.

Tropical Depression 8 is off the coast of South Carolina on Monday morning and will slowly push its way inland over the Carolinas the next several days, forecasters say.
