Howard Frankland Bridge closed due to Hurricane Helene
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Highway Patrol has closed the Howard Frankland Bridge ahead of Hurricane Helene. FHP said the closure comes as a result of high winds and storm surges. “Motorists should seek alternate travel routes and if not absolutely necessary remain off the highways,” FHP wrote in a statement.
Gandy Bridge partially reopens; other Tampa Bay bridges remain closed after Helene
The westbound lanes of the Gandy Bridge reopened Friday morning after Hurricane Helene lashed the region. The eastbound lanes remain closed. The Howard Frankland Bridge and Courtney Campbell Causeway, as well as the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, are still closed.
