Remco Evenepoel (Belgium) made history on Sunday as the first elite man to add the world time trial victory to the Olympic time trial gold medal, dominating the 46.1km race against the clock in Zürich with a time of 53:01.

The Olympic champion Grace Brown shattered Demi Vollering’s time to take the road time trial world title and complete a sublime double.

The Australian time trial queen finished ahead of Demi Vollering and defending champion Chloe Dygert in second and third place respectively on Sunday (22 September).
