Morris appeared shocked as the camera whipped around to him after his name was announced as the winner in the category. Lamorne kissed his mother, who was equal parts shocked and proud, and then made his way to the stage where he gave a speech that sounded like he was channeling his character,

"My beautiful daughter Lily, I told you I would do it. You've always doubted me," Lamorne joked, referencing the emotional video of him learning that he was nominated for his first Emmy as his daughter made fun of his reaction. Lamorne went on to thank the cast and crew as he took the moment in.
